1. Who we are
Jmschauer (jmschauer.com) is the data controller for the personal information described in this policy. You can reach us at [email protected] or through the contact form for any privacy request. The registered business name and address will be published here.
2. What we collect
| When | What | Why |
|---|---|---|
| You create an account with email | First name, last name, email address, UK phone number, a one-way hash of your password, date joined | To run your account, confirm you are an adult in the UK and let you sign in |
| You sign up or sign in with Google | Your name, verified email address and Google account ID, received from Google and checked by our server with Google; your UK phone number, which we ask for separately | Same as above |
| You use your account | Coin balance, XP, level, number of games opened, last sign-in date, date of your last daily bonus, failed sign-in count | To show your wallet and level and to protect your account |
| You send a contact or Player Care message | Name, email address, topic and message | To reply to you |
We do not collect card or bank details, and we do not ask for your date of birth, address or identity documents unless we have a specific reason to check your age.
3. Where it is kept and how it is protected
Your account is stored on our own server as a single protected file. The folder it lives in is blocked from the web and every file starts with a guard that stops it being displayed, so it cannot be read by visiting a web address. We do not use a database and no account data is exposed through tables, queries or public endpoints. Your password is hashed with a modern one-way algorithm before it is saved; we never store or see the password itself.
Your coins, XP and level are kept in the same server file. Your browser only receives the figures needed to show them on the page; it does not calculate or store them.
Messages you send through the contact or Player Care forms are posted to our server, emailed to our support inbox over an encrypted (STARTTLS) SMTP connection, and recorded in a protected log on the server so that we can confirm the message arrived and reply. Passwords are never written to any log.
Signing in sets one strictly necessary session cookie. See the Cookies Policy.
4. Legal bases
- Contract: running your account and the games you asked to play.
- Legal obligation and legitimate interest: checking you are 18+ and in the UK, preventing abuse and keeping the Service secure.
- Legitimate interest: replying to messages you send us.
- Consent: any optional cookies, which are off unless you accept them.
5. Who we share it with
We do not sell or rent personal information. It is shared only with:
- Google, if you choose Google sign-in (Google's privacy policy applies);
- our email delivery provider, which carries contact-form emails from our server to our inbox;
- our hosting provider, on whose servers the website and your account file are stored;
- authorities, where the law requires.
Our games are made and hosted by us at jmschauer.com, so playing them does not send your details to any third-party game provider.
6. How long we keep it
Your account file is kept until you delete your account (which you can do yourself on the My Account page, taking effect immediately) or ask us to delete it. Accounts unused for 24 months may be deleted. Contact messages and their log entries are deleted once your request is dealt with, and in any case within 12 months.
7. Your rights
Under the UK GDPR and Data Protection Act 2018 you have the right to access, correct, delete or restrict the use of your personal information, to object to processing, to data portability and to withdraw consent. To use any of these rights, send a message through the contact form choosing "Privacy question", or email {EMAIL}. We will respond within one month. You can also complain to the Information Commissioner's Office at ico.org.uk.
8. Children
Jmschauer is for adults aged 18 and over. We do not knowingly collect information from anyone under 18. If you believe a child has created an account, contact us and we will delete it.
9. Changes
We will update this page if our practices change. The date at the top shows the latest version.
